Zenfira Magomedalieva from Russia took the gold medal in the light heavyweight category while Wang Lina from China finished with a bronze.
Huong’s teammate Nguyen Thi Tam, who competed in the 51-kilogram category, also made it into the semifinal round of the tournament.
Tam was declared the winner in a 3-2 decision over Aetbaeva Liliya from Russia, but tournament organizers later took the bronze away from the Vietnamese boxer, declaring Liliya as the bronze medal winner after the Russian teams filed complaints against the decision.
The 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships was held from October 3-13 and attracted 224 athletes from 57 countries and territories.
