"Patient 1142" is a 46-year-old woman from the central province of Thanh Hoa who returned from Russia, arriving October 16 at the Van Don International Airport on Vietnam Airlines flight VN5062.
She was quarantined in the northern province of Ninh Binh Province and is being treated there.
"Patient 1143", a 33-year-old woman from the central province of Ha Tinh Province, and her eight-month old son, "patient 1144," arrived from Angola October 20 at the Van Don International Airport on Vietnam Airlines flight VN8.
They were quarantined in the northern province of Bac Giang Province and are now being treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Disease in Hanoi.
Of Vietnam’s 1,144 cases, 1,046 have recovered and 35 have died.
The country has recorded 691 community transmissions of the virus so far, and gone 48 days without recording any new transmission.
Most of the active patients are in stable condition, with 18 of testing negative for the novel coronavirus at least once.
The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed 1.12 million lives globally.
