Professional football tournament V. League could be back on October 3 at the earliest, according to Vietnam Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).
VPF proposed two plans in order for local clubs to wrap up this V.Tournament season and for players to prepare for future tournaments.
The tournament will restart on October 3.
The bottom six teams of the league to avoid relegation will have all their games finished by November 15, while the top eight teams competing for the title need to finish by November 22.
For the second pick, the bottom team's final matches will run until November 22 while the top team ends on November 29.However, this is the least feasible option because clubs only have 45 days to prepare for the 2021 season.
VPF said it will require at least 60 days to finish all matches of this season. To prepare for the 2021 season, clubs also need about 45-60 days to prepare personnel, finance and facilities.
V-League 2021 is also expected to start according to the regulations of the 2020 season, so the Vietnamese national team will compete in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia and the AFF Cup, which will be moved to March and April next year.
Vietnamese football was suspended at the end of July due to the outbreak of the new Covid-19 epidemic.
