A Vietnamese woman in Hanoi is another Covid-19 patient whose condition is getting worse and requires mechanical ventilation and dialysis.

The 64-year-old woman, also being treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, suffers from vestibular disorders as an underlying disease.She experienced persistent shortness of breath to respiratory failure on Sunday night.Doctors put her on a breathing tube and used a ventilator, among other measures, to help her stabilize.She was transferred to the ICU and her pulse, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels are now stable.

The British man was confirmed to have the infection on Vietnam Airlines flight VN54, which flew from London and landed in Hanoi on March 2.He was confirmed infected on March 8.

The Vietnamese woman was diagnosed on March 7.She is the aunt of Nguyen Hong Nhung, 26 years old, the first Covid-19 patient of Vietnam and Hanoi, who was on the same flight VN54.

Vietnam has confirmed 57 cases of Covid-19 so far, with 16 cases having been discharged.Of the active cases, 17 are foreigners.
