"The most important thing for me is we recover well from the game against China and we get ourselves ready mentally and freshen up for the game against Vietnam, and we go there and get three points," Arnold told Australian media site news.com.au.
The game between Vietnam and Australia will take place at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi without spectators due to Covid-19, with Arnold believing the home advantage would be removed since no fans can attend the match.
"I do believe it’s an advantage for the away team to play against a home team with no crowds, and there'll be no crowds in Vietnam," he said.
The Australia manager affirmed victory is the only result he expects in the clash with Vietnam.
"We prepare ourselves expecting to go out and win every game. Tuesday against Vietnam will be no different.
"For us that’s our mentality – every time we go out we have to win."
The Socceroos are leading group B after winning 3-0 against China in the game on Friday - their ninth consecutive victory. This is also their longest winning streak since 1977, when they last scored nine consecutive wins. Australia will make history if they're able to beat Vietnam.
"We are here to make history so it is really good for the books but we have got more to come and so we are only just getting started," winger Awer Mabil told Australian newspaper Herald Sun.
For Vietnam, the team have returned to Hanoi after losing 1-3 to Saudi Arabia on Friday. They took the lead early but couldn’t maintain it after playing with 10 men from the early second half.
Do Duy Manh, who got a red card in the game, will be absent against Australia.
The Vietnam vs. Australia game will start at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7 (Hanoi time), and will be reported live on VnExpress International.
